Which photos print well
We review every file before sending it to production. A person enlarges the image, checks grain and blur, and determines whether it will print well at 300 DPI. We never enlarge the screen preview. The print file is generated from your original.
What works: a face-on portrait, a scanned childhood photo with its grain, a slightly faded photo strip or a clear travel photo. Marks on the paper are part of the memory. We do not try to erase them.
What does not work: a story screenshot, a tilted photo of a photo, a very dark image or a heavily compressed file. In these cases, we email you before production with what needs to change.
One photo, two, or five
Each template expects a specific number of images. If you only have one, choose a template made for one.
One photo: I Love My Girlfriend (portrait in a large heart), My Fav Person (heart-shaped photo) or Eyes (a black-and-white eye strip on the front). Two photos: Polaroid Love, two Polaroids and your handwritten message. Five photos: Double Eyes, one eye strip on the front and four stacked eye strips on the back.
If the memory is not an image, Sorry Girls pairs a declaration on the back with a small signature on the front.
What cropping changes
In the Studio, move your photo within the template's area. What you see on the t-shirt is the composition we will print. Cropping keeps the face, hands or detail that matters and leaves out the rest.
The preview is not the production file. Printing uses a server-generated 300 DPI export from your original, without enlarging the thumbnail. An image that is too small cannot gain detail at print time.
Why start with a frame
Here, templates give your photos and words a considered layout: photo areas, text areas and spacing are already designed for a t-shirt you will want to wear.
Find the templates in the shop. Choose your t-shirt color (white or black) and size on the same page after adding your photo.
What we check by hand
After payment, your order goes through a review: five to twelve hours, one person, your file enlarged. Resolution, cropping, spelling of names and dates. If something will not print well, we contact you before production. If it cannot be fixed, your order is refunded.
This step complements your preview. It is the check between the screen and the fabric. Production times start at approval, not payment: details are on the page Delivery.
Frequently asked questions
- What file size do I need?
- At least 1,000 pixels wide, ideally more. A scanned childhood photo works if it stays clear when enlarged. A screenshot of a story does not.
- Can I use a slightly damaged childhood photo?
- Yes. Grain, worn corners and faded colors are part of the memory. We do not try to turn it into a new image.
- Can I see the t-shirt before paying?
- Yes. Upload your photo, crop it, add your words and watch the garment update on screen. Payment comes after you have checked the result.
- Will my photo stay in color?
- It depends on the template. Some frames are designed in black and white; others keep your original colors. You can see it immediately in the preview.
